When rattan left the patio and settled in the lounge.

Think of rattan and you probably have a mental picture of the posh patio furniture that was dusted down for summertime entertaining - in the seventies.

But recently, this retro favourite has made a huge comeback, adding a natural, textured sophistication to popular indoor furniture.

Flick through the home decor mags and you’ll often see rattan sideboards, drawers and cupboards making living rooms and lounges look particularly warm and inviting.

Rattan is extremely versatile. If your home is themed Scandi, Japandi*, boho or even minimalist, there’s a rattan piece that will fit perfectly. It’s both decorative and simple at the same time.

It’s also a good choice from a sustainability perspective. Rattan is made from the bark or core of climbing plants, which grow several centimetres a day. So, it’s never in short supply.

We’ve noticed quite an uptick in interest in our rattan range over the last few weeks. Possibly because, now the clocks have changed, people are beginning to cosy-up their homes for autumn and winter.

At precisely the same time that the garden furniture is being packed away in the shed.
